Your Welcomed Involvement.

Since 2012 the Rocks Village Memorial Association, Inc. (RVMA) has been able to repair the foundation of the Hand Tub House, replace the roof, plaster inside, and paint both the inside and outside as well as upgrade the electrical. We have also worked with Whittier Tech to build a replica of the original Toll House, which now holds a wonderful museum filled with information of the village, dating back to the mid-1600s.

With the larger projects behind us, the RVMA is looking for new members to join in on plans for the future work on the Hand Tub House and grounds, as well as planning events (with Covid in mind) at the Hand Tub House and visits to the Toll House Museum.

Our goal is to ensure the Hand Tub House, Toll House and grounds are cared for far into the future.

If you would like to be part of this. please go to Rocksvillage.org and contact one of the Board of Directors, who will be in touch with you about possibilities for your welcomed involvement!

An Added Touch!

A Weather vane is installed atop the cupola on the Hand Tub House.

Two years ago, Andrew Gage Nichols donated the funds to have a weather vane installed atop the Hand Tub House to match the one from an early 1900s photo. Mr. Gage Nichols has family ties to the village through the Gage, Nichols, and Chase Family and has provided funding for several projects over the years. It has been challenging to find experts who could install the weather vane during the pandemic. In January, Robert Close from Close-to-the-Sky provided overhead shots of the cupola from a drone so we could evaluate how to install. Finally, in November Rich Lambert from Lambert Roofing in Haverhill and Dennis Frahm from SNF Crane Service were able to coordinate their time and install the weather vane. It is a wonderful touch to an already beautiful building.

The RVMA is very grateful to Rich Lambert, Dennis Frahm and Robert Close for donating their time and equipment and Andrew Gage Nichols for his financial donation in order to make this happen.

Please stop by to see the lovely addition to the Hand Tub House.

Biggest Fundraiser Ever!!

The Rocks Village Memorial Association, Inc. held its bi-annual fundraiser sale over two weekends this Fall. Shoppers and volunteers happily followed the CDC guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing to help make this a successful and enjoyable event. The over $9,000 that the RVMA was able to raise came from the sales of donated items as well as monetary donations from supporters of the Hand Tub House. Donated items came from our regular donors but this year a good amount came from people who had spent the quarantine cleaning out their attics, basements, and garages. There are a few items left which are being sold on Facebook Market Place. Please take a look.

The success of the sale is due to a hardworking team of Villagers as well as neighbors and friends of the Hand Tub House. This was one of the best turnouts of volunteers we have had in a long time.

The money raised will help with several projects to maintain and historically preserve the Hand Tub House. For this upcoming year (2022), we are planning on repairing the front door and improving the side entrance (for which we have also received a Methuen Festival of Trees grant) as well as upgrading the electricity on the second floor.

Fundraiser Sale Second Chance

The sale they talk about at other sales continues!  The Rocks Village Memorial Association, Inc. is excited to continue their yard sale fundraiser on Sat Oct. 2 & Sun Oct. 3 from 8 am – 3 pm.  Sale takes place at the Hand Tub House, 1 River Road in Rocks Village.  Since hosting our September sale our inventory has been supplemented with new treasures!  Furniture, vintage quilts, unique housewares, barware, old tools, books and more await you!

Thank You!

The Rocks Village Memorial Association, Inc. would like to sincerely thank all of you for your tremendous support of our recent fundraiser sale.  You made it a great success!  The great weather and your cooperation with our COVID precautions made the sale a welcome way to connect again as a community. The donation of items was the best we have ever had.  Purchases and monetary donations helped us raise money to continue improvements to the Hand Tub House, including electrical work and door repairs.
If you were unable to join us this past weekend, we will be scheduling another sale in October.  There are still some wonderful pieces of furniture available along with, vintage quilts, unique housewares items and lovely glassware.  Check our website at rocksvillage.org for details of the October sale.
