1789, Nov 4: George Washington Visited Haverhill

From J. Ingersoll diary:
August 28, 1814: The English were at Washington and burnt public buildings.
September 6, 1814: The English took Alexandria and Georgetown. They are at Castine and Belfast in the District of Maine.
September 9, 1814: The Haverhill Light Infantry was called to march to Boston; the state militia was called to be ready.
October 22, 1814: The Legislature voted to raise an army of 10,000.
February 10, 1815: The American army at New Orleans defeated the British. 2000 were killed and wounded and taken prisoner.
February 14, 1815: Shops were illuminated and guns fired to celebrate peace.
According to Chase, “The Fourth of July in 1835, was observed at the Rocks Village, in a most enthusiastic Manner, by the “Democratic Republicans.” (page 505).
